This article is for clients using the Oasys client iOS app.
If you care for more than one person in the same practice (for example two children), or you are a guardian on a minor’s chart, Oasys may give you more than one account under the same login. This article explains how switching works in the iOS app.
In this article:
1. One email, multiple accounts
Oasys can attach several accounts to the same sign-in:
Your own adult account (Self)
One or more Minor accounts you guardian
You sign in once. Then you pick which account you’re working in.
This is not the same as sharing one chart. Each person has their own sessions, documents, messages (when enabled), and billing.
2. How to switch
Open Settings.
Tap Switch account (only shown if you have multiple accounts).
On the sheet titled Switch account — “Choose the account to view and manage.” — pick the person you want.
Confirm the name and badge match.
Until you switch, everything you see (Home, Documents, Sessions, Billing, Messages) belongs to the currently selected account only.
3. Self, Minor & Setup needed
Badge | Meaning |
Self | The account for the person who owns the login (often the guardian’s own chart, if they also receive care) |
Minor | A child account you have guardian access to |
Setup needed | That account’s setup isn’t finished yet |
If setup is incomplete, you may be sent to Complete Your Minor's Profile on the website (Complete on Web). The subtitle may remind you to switch to their account from the menu there.
Home greeting on a child account can show both names (minor & guardian). Profile uses Minor's Information instead of Basic Information.
4. What stays separate
For each account, these are independent:
Sessions (upcoming, awaiting, past)
Documents assigned to that person
Messages with that person’s therapist (when enabled)
Billing & Payments — invoices, cards, who-pays, superbills
Mood / Diary / health data (when those features are on)
Therapist connection details on Home
Paying an invoice or completing a form on Child A does not update Child B.
5. What a minor account may hide
Practices can limit what a guardian sees on a minor account.
Adults usually have full access; narrowed minors may be missing Sessions, Billing, messaging, or clinical tracking.
While you are viewing a child’s account, the app hides health / Apple Health surfaces. A minor signed in on their own account still sees them. Every child account, including a minor’s own login, uses a simpler messaging connection.
When filling assessments for a child, you may see: “Please answer these questions on behalf of your minor.”
On Billing for a child, who-pays may say Myself (Parent/Guardian) instead of Me.
6. If a child account won’t open
Screen | What to try |
Setting up access | Wait and try again, or tap Switch Account to open the account picker and go to another account |
Couldn't load this account | Check your connection → Try Again |
Complete Your Minor's Profile | Use Complete on Web, and make sure you’re on the child’s account on the website too |
If access never appears, contact your practice — they may still need to finish the minor’s portal permissions.
Frequently asked questions
I don’t see Switch account.
You only have one account on this login, or you’re not fully signed in yet. Ask the practice to link the minor if you expected more than one.I paid on my Self account but the child’s invoice is still unpaid.
Switch into the Minor account and pay (or set who pays) there. Why can’t I connect Apple Health on my child’s account?
Apple Health reads the data on the phone you are holding, so it can only be added to your own account. While you are viewing your child’s account, Data Integrations does not appear in Settings. If your child has their own Oasys login, they can connect Apple Health on their own phone.Who can fix missing Sessions or Billing on a minor?
Your practice controls those permissions — contact them, or use Contact Us in Settings from an account you can open.
