This article is for clients using the Oasys client iOS app.
In the Oasys iOS app, billing lives under Settings → Billing & Payments — not as a bottom tab. There you manage payment methods, autopay, who pays, invoices, and superbills.
⚠️ There is no Pay or Billing tab on the patient tab bar. Always start from Settings.
In this article:
1. Open Billing & Payments
Tap Settings.
Under BILLING & PAYMENTS, tap Billing & Payments (you may see a badge like 2 unpaid).
You can also jump from Home Needs attention → Unpaid Invoice(s). Sessions carry no billing section, so everything to do with money starts here.
If this row is missing, billing access may be off for this account — ask your practice, and confirm Switch account if you manage a minor.
2. Payment methods & autopay
Under PAYMENT METHOD:
See your card ({Brand} ending in {last4}) or tap Add payment method.
Manage cards on Payment Methods: Set as default, Remove.
Under PREFERENCES:
Autopay — “New invoices are charged to your default card automatically when enabled.”
You need a default card first. Toast if missing: “Set a default payment method before enabling autopay.”
If your therapist hasn’t finished payment setup: “Your therapist needs to complete their payment setup before you can add a payment method.”
If someone else is the payer: “Payment methods are managed under your alternative payer's settings.”
3. Who pays
Open WHO PAYS / Payment Settings to choose:
Me or Myself (Parent/Guardian) (on a child’s account)
Another person / Another person (parent, spouse, etc.)
You can Add Alternative Payer, edit their info, add their cards, set auto-pay for that payer, and Set as Primary Payer.
Manage a minor’s cards and invoices while switched into that minor’s account.
4. Invoices & receipts
The hub lists recent invoices; tap Show all invoices for the full list (Invoices).
Filters: All, Unpaid, Paid
Statuses you may see: Unpaid, Overdue, Paid, Voided, Refunded, Partially Refunded, and Failed. An invoice reads the same on the hub, in the list and on its own screen. A Failed invoice often still offers Pay, because a payment that didn’t go through can be tried again; when no Pay button appears, contact your practice.
Pay with Pay {amount}, confirm on Confirm Payment
Success toast: Payment successful
Paid invoices: View Receipt (opens a detailed receipt on Stripe)
Empty: No Invoices Yet — “Invoices from your therapist will appear here.”
If an invoice is billed to an alternative payer, you may not be able to pay it from the patient’s own methods — switch who pays or contact the practice.
5. Superbills
Under INSURANCE on the hub, open Superbills.
Generate → select eligible sessions → Generate Superbill
View PDF when ready, then Share at the top right to save or send it
Sessions need diagnosis codes to be eligible. Empty generate state: “Sessions need diagnosis codes to generate superbills.”
6. Insurance on your profile
Edit insurance details under Settings → (profile) → Insurance (provider, member ID, group number, subscriber relationship, and more).
To view insurance card images, use View insurance cards on web.
7. What’s on the website instead
💡 A Good Faith Estimate assigned to you opens from the Documents tab, where you can read it and tap I Acknowledge. There is no separate Estimates area in the iOS app, and insurance card image viewing opens the website.
You can’t edit invoice totals in the app — contact your practice if an amount looks wrong. For general help, use Contact Us in Settings (there isn’t a separate “Contact billing support” row in the hub).
Frequently asked questions
Where did the Billing tab go?
It was never shipped as a patient tab. Use Settings → Billing & Payments.Autopay won’t turn on.
Add a card, set it as Default, then enable Autopay.I paid but need a receipt.
Open the paid invoice → View Receipt.Child’s invoice isn’t here.
Settings → Switch account to that Minor, then open Billing again. Confirm the practice gave that account billing access.
