Getting Started with the Oasys app

How to get into the Oasys app with your invite, get past setup screens, and find your way around the Home, Documents, Sessions, and Settings tabs.

Written by Bradley Smith

This article is for clients using the Oasys client iOS app.

Welcome to the Oasys iOS app. This is where you join telehealth sessions, complete documents, message your therapist, check invoices, and (when your practice has them turned on) track mood, diary cards, and health data.

This article gets you oriented on day one. For sign-in problems, see Signing in, invites & password help. For parents managing a child's account, see Switching accounts (guardians & minors).

In this article:

1. How you get access

You do not create a patient account inside the iOS app. Your therapist or practice invites you (usually by email). After that, you sign in with the email and password you set — or with Continue with Google / Face ID or Touch ID if those are available on your device.

Typical path:

  1. You receive an invitation from Oasys or your practice.

  2. You finish any email verification or password setup you’re asked for.

  3. You open the Oasys app and see Welcome back! with Email address and Password.

  4. You may need to accept a Therapist Invitation, finish profile setup, or wait while your care team is finalized (details below).

  5. When those gates clear, you land on Home.

💡 There is no “Sign up” or “Create account” button for patients in the iOS app. If you don’t have an invite yet, ask your practice to add you.

2. First open & what may block the app

Until setup is finished, Oasys may show a full-screen message instead of the tab bar. Common ones:

  • Check Your Email — verify your email, then return.

  • Update Your Password — for security, set a new password before continuing.

  • Verification Code — enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app (if two-factor is on). Tick Trust this device for 30 days and this phone skips the code for the next 30 days.

  • Therapist Invitation — Accept Invitation or Decline.

  • Complete Your Profile / Complete Your Minor's Profile — some people must finish setup on the Oasys website (Complete on Web).

  • No Therapist Connected — ask your therapist to add you, then try again. You may see Go to Oasys Web.

  • Setting up your care team — wait a moment and tap Check Again.

  • Setting up access (minors) — access is still being configured; if your login has more than one account, Switch Account opens the account picker.

Some patients complete a short in-app profile (Complete Your Patient Profile, then insurance and “about yourself”). Others are sent to the website first — follow the on-screen instructions.

3. Your bottom tabs

After you’re in, the patient app uses up to four tabs (exact labels):

Tab

What it’s for

Home

Greeting, next session / join, mood or diary check-in, Needs attention, health snapshot, message your therapist, notifications bell

Documents

Forms, assessments, signatures, and worksheets your therapist assigns, plus files you and your care team share (when this tab is on)

Sessions

Upcoming, awaiting approval, and past sessions; book / reschedule / cancel when allowed; join video (when this tab is on)

Settings

Profile, security, notifications, data integrations, Billing & Payments, crisis resources, Contact Us, sign out

Messages is not a bottom tab. Open it from Home (for example Message {name}). Billing is under Settings → Billing & Payments, not its own tab.

4. Why some tabs might be missing

Documents and Sessions only appear when your practice has those features available for you. Guardians on a minor account may also see fewer areas if the practice limited that child’s portal access.

If the Home screen looks almost empty, you may see You're all caught up — “Nothing needs your attention right now.” That can be normal when there’s nothing pending.

Parents with more than one person on the same login: use Settings → Switch account so you’re looking at the right person. See Switching accounts (guardians & minors).

5. When the app sends you to the website

Some setup and advanced steps open the Oasys website (for example profile completion, viewing insurance card images, or certain document types). When that happens, follow Complete on Web, Open oasys.health, or similar buttons in the app.

💡 Charts and deeper health insights, and guest telehealth join without signing in, are available on the Oasys website (not in the iOS app). This guide covers what you can do in the app.

Frequently asked questions

  • I never got an invite. Can I register in the app?
No. Ask your practice to invite you. The patient app does not offer self-registration.

  • I’m stuck on “No Therapist Connected.” What do I do?
Ask your therapist or practice to add you in Oasys, then sign in again. You can use Go to Oasys Web if the screen offers it, or contact the practice.

  • Where is Billing?
Open Settings, then Billing & Payments. It is not a bottom tab.

  • Where are Messages?
From Home, use the message control (for example Message {name}). There is no Messages tab.
