Navigating your dashboard

Your dashboard overview — today's schedule, action items, client requests, and quick actions.

Your dashboard is the first thing you see when you log in. It gives you a real-time snapshot of your day and highlights items that need your attention.

In this article:

1. Today's schedule

The top of your dashboard shows your sessions for the day:

  • Each session shows the client name, time, and session mode (video, in-person, or phone).

  • Status indicators show whether sessions are upcoming, in progress, or completed.

  • Click Start Session directly from here to begin a telehealth or in-person session.

💡 The schedule refreshes automatically every 60 seconds, so you always see the latest status.

2. Action items

Your dashboard highlights pending items that need your attention. Each shows a count badge — click any item to go directly to the relevant section.

  • Notes to Sign — completed sessions with unsigned notes. Click to review and sign.

  • Unbilled Sessions — completed sessions that haven't been invoiced or claimed yet.

  • Overdue Documents — assessments or forms you assigned to patients that are past due.

  • Unread Messages — new messages from clients in secure messaging.

  • Pending Reviews — if you're a supervisor, sessions from supervisees awaiting your review.

3. Client requests

Two types of requests appear here:

  • New client invitations — clients you've invited who haven't completed signup yet.

  • Connection requests — existing Oasys users who have requested to connect with you as their therapist.

4. Quick actions

One-click shortcuts to common tasks like adding a client, creating an appointment, or accessing the help center.

5. Onboarding checklist

If you're new to Oasys, a checklist guides you through the initial setup steps: profile, availability, billing, and more. It disappears once you've completed all items.

💡 Tip: If you dismissed the checklist but want to come back to it, click Finish Setup in the top navigation bar (visible until onboarding is complete).


Frequently asked questions

  • Why don't I see billing action items?
    Billing-related items (like Unbilled Sessions) only appear if you have the billing feature enabled. If you don't see them, check with your practice admin or contact support.

  • How often does the dashboard refresh?
    The schedule refreshes every 60 seconds. Action item counts update when you navigate back to the dashboard or when underlying data changes.

  • Can I customize what appears on the dashboard?
    The dashboard layout is fixed, but the items shown are dynamic: they reflect your actual caseload, pending items, and enabled features.
